About

Brooke Long is an artist who finds inspiration in creating structured yet dynamic environments through her work. With a focus on painting and sculpture, she explores the relationship between stability and change by manipulating architectural space using acrylic paint, straight lines, and masking techniques on wooden panels. Her compositions combine playful yet mature colors, simple lines, and intentional empty spaces to transform the picture plane into immersive, geometric fields of color. By introducing unexpected elements and shifting geometric planes, her work challenges traditional perceptions of space.

Brooke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in painting and sculpture from Lycoming College in 2014, and later completed a Master of Fine Arts in painting and drawing from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2016. She has exhibited her work in solo shows throughtout upstate New York where she resides. Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions at various galleries in New York City such as Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn and Wavehill in the Bronx. Additionally, her work has been published in the Lycoming College Tributary.
